These are my core values when it comes to intimacy work.

You’ve heard the saying a million times- ‘We don’t write plays about normal days’. Theatre is inherently uncomfortable and navigating discomfort is how we grow as artists and as humans. My work as an intimacy director has helped me discover the line between comfort and safety and how I can uphold the latter to make sure that the stories we’re telling are perfectly choreographed to have the audience on the edge of their seats. Intimacy is a collaborative storytelling tool and the ways we approach it are constantly evolving to fit industry standards and feedback; I find this work absolutely thrilling and hope that by the end of our time together, you will too!

Truthful. Specific. Reliable.

  • "Sofia is the person you want on your project if you have any sort of intimacy. She was attentive, caring, thorough and always on top of it. From the texts before our first rehearsal to closing statements, she was so considerate and attentive to anything I could’ve needed for this project. When it came to filming on the day, everything went exceptionally well and I appreciated having her close by at all times. I would not have self so comfortable if she wasn't present"

  • "Sofia was so wonderful to work with and did such a great job maintaining a safe environment both on and off-set. She was fantastic with facilitating communication between the actors and the creative team around changing shots, costuming, and logistical problems on set. I felt that she played a huge role in creating a safe, professional environment in rehearsals and on set for our project."

  • "Sofia is a wonderful intimacy coordinator. She's organized, open, kind, and a great collaborator. She established a great relationship between director and actors, making sure everyone felt heard and safe, while still having fun on set. She's definitely someone you want to work with!"

  • "Sofia is really great at adjusting to fit the actors needs. She stopped multiple times to make sure she wasn’t going too fast for us and just to make sure we were still comfortable with what we were doing. She was very thorough and obviously well prepared! "
